We Are Excited To Welcome you Back!!
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our (new) normal habits and routines. While many things have changed during this time, one thing has remained the same: Our Commitment To Your Safety & Health
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
The following measures have been implemented for enhanced protection upon our reopening:
Patient Safety Protocols:
-
Pre-screening questionnaire: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.(You will receive this in a separate email)
-
On time arrival: If you arrive early for your appointment please wait downstairs and come up only at your scheduled time.
-
Patient only: If you have someone accompanying you to the office please ask them to wait outside the office.
-
Face mask/covering: Please use a face mask or face covering when entering the office.
-
Hand sanitization: We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
-
Temperature check: At your check in at the front desk your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer. If you have a temperature over 100.4 we will reappoint your visit.
-
Payments: We will collect your estimated payment at this time so you can leave the office immediately once your appointment is complete.
-
Shoe covers: We will provide shoe coverings to be used prior to entering our clinical area.
-
Pre rinsing: We will have you pre-rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide.
Safety Measures at the Office
-
Staggered approach: Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. Only half the number of providers will be seeing patients at any given time, this will allow for an operatory next to you to be vacant. These efforts might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
-
Acrylic sneeze guards: These have been placed at the front desk for additional protection for our staff and you.
-
Daily office fumigation: The office will be completely fumigated/fogged every night & afternoon. We will be using a hypochlorous acid and water mixture to fog the air and disinfect all surfaces. Hypochlorous acid is approved by the EPA for killing SARS-CoV-2 and is a compound also produced by human white blood cells to fight invading pathogens. In other words, it is a very safe disinfectant.
-
Air purification: Carefully researched, medical grade Hepa Air Purifiers will be continuously turning over the air throughout the clinical areas .After doing a lot of research we decided to go with IQ Air, it’s a Swiss made purifier with excellent track record and quality. It can capture particles as small as 0.003 microns up to 99.95% & any larger particle size to 99.97%. These purifiers will also allow for a complete air exchange/turnover every 5 minutes. This will help with capturing and removing aerosols in the air
-
Aspirators: High volume aspirators will be used for all aerosolization procedures.
-
Show covers: We want to maintain our clinical area as clean as we possibly can. For this reason we will be providing shoe covers to all patients for their appointments.
-
Staff protection: Your providers will use additional PPE than usual. All clinical staff will use N95 respirators, isolation gowns, head and shoe covers, safety goggles and face shields.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Please call our office at 617 -267-3889 if you have any additional questions or concerns. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
